Sh. Harsh Khare Takes Charge as Additional General Manager of Northern Railway

Sh. Harsh Khare, a distinguished officer of the 1991 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), has been appointed as the Additional General Manager (AGM) of Northern Railway.

​Sh. Harsh Khare has most recently served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD)/Electrical Engineering (General) in Railway Board. His appointment comes at a crucial time as Northern Railway continues to spearhead major infrastructure upgrades and electrification projects across the region.

​With over three decades of service, Sh. Khare is recognized for his deep technical expertise and operational acumen. His career highlights include:

​Locomotive Innovation: Instrumental in the design and production of the WAP-4 and WAP-7 locomotives at Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW).

​Infrastructure Growth: Successfully oversaw the electrification of 586 Route Kilometers during his tenure as CGM at IRCON.

​Strategic Leadership: Previously served as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Hubballi, where he was noted for improving divisional efficiency and crew management systems.

​Policy & Safety: At RDSO, he led the safety certification of several metro systems and developed the Manual for Safety Certification of Metros.

​In his new role as AGM, Sh. Khare will assist the General Manager in overseeing the vast operations of the Northern Railway zone, focusing on enhancing safety, punctuality, and passenger amenities.
